f.a.q.
Q. What’s the advantage to hiring professional wedding photographers? Why hire you?
A. Documenting a wedding is a delicate, very high pressure art. Aside from the fancy equipment, we also have a practiced eye for capturing the right moment and a flair for problem solving. A great wedding photographer does more than just take pictures, they also ease you through your day, smoothing out edges and adapting to any situation.
As to why you should hire us in particular, because while other wedding photographers may rely only on experience, we also bring proven artistic talent, (see: Lung’s CV), and unparalleled organizational know-how, making certain that no matter what happens, you look fabulous.
Q. What is a documentarian or photojournalistic style photographer?
A. It means that their primary focus is on recording the events of the day as they unfold, much as a journalist would, rather than overtly posing your guests or interfering with the wedding. Don’t worry, we’ll take formally posed pictures too, perfect for sending out to friends and family or putting on the wall.
Q. Are you willing to travel?
A. Oh yes, undoubtedly. We are not especially tied to working in Vancouver and would be more than happy to accompany you wherever in the world you wish to be married, depending on our schedules. If flights are involved, a travel fee will be required to cover the expense of the plane tickets, hotel, and a rental car. For more specific pricing information, please send us an inquiry through our Contact Page with the details of the trip, such as dates and location. If you are interested in some samples of our out-of-town wedding photography, please take a look at Angel and Rob’s wedding, which was in Greece, or Mike and Mo’s wedding, which was in Massachusetts.
Q. Do you do photobooths?
Rather than lugging around a giant box, we have an option that includes a photo-booth style picture corner with a background in your wedding colour. This option requires giving us a bit of extra space to set up, but the results are always delightful and one of a kind.
Q. How much notice do you need? Can I book you for a wedding this week?
A. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Bookings are guaranteed with a deposit. Though most people book their weddings many months in advance, we are happy to help you with last minute plans.
Q. How long does it take for you to process the photos after the wedding?
A. Depending on how many photos were taken and how much processing is required, the wedding photos should be delivered to you in one to two weeks. If you have also purchased prints, those may take a day or two more, due to printing times.
Q. The pillow books sound racy. Will my naked pictures end up on your website?
A. Not unless you give us very explicit permission to do so and even then it’s really unlikely.
Q. Do I get to keep my negatives if I go with film?
A. Yes, you get to keep all of your negatives, and unlike other photographers, we do not require a copyright fee if you wish to make prints from them yourself.
Q. Who owns the photos once they’ve been taken?
A. We grant our clients a NonCommercial-ShareAlike copyright. You may share, print, and display your wedding photos to your heart’s desire, but you may not use the work for commercial purposes without our permission. Basically, if you’re going to make money, we need to make money too.
